The photos and journal selections
contained on this website are presented only for their historical
& nostalgic value, and as a tribute to those who have served in
the U.S. Armed Forces, with emphasis on the United States Air
Force.
Care has been taken to exclude all
photos and text which might be interpreted as inaccurate and/or
inappropriate for the above purposes.
I've also changed most the servicemen's
names found in the journal entries.
This website is not intended to promote
war-making or necessarily serve as an endorsement or criticism
of the U.S. involvement in the Korean conflict, or any conflict
or war past or present.
I suspect that most people who see
this website tend to assume I have a certain pro-military or pro-war
or conservative mindset. Politically speaking, I'm truly independent;
I go where I see good ideas and leadership, regardless of party
affiliation. But I will say this; friends who know me well know
I'm actually outspoken against most wars!
With this website I mainly just wanted
to celebrate and memorialize a period in my father's life that
meant something both to him and to the friends he made during
his many years in the United States Air Force.
Although my father would not have
hesitated to fly into combat, in hindsight I've always gotten
a sense of relief knowing that he never actually saw combat. He
flew shiny jets, he had the time of his life, made good friends,
and he made a living. That's good enough for me.
I'll leave all the political baggage
to another discussion on another website.
To all of you who have served for
our country, I extend my sincere appreciation for your service.
