Comments: I would simply like to state that Tracy B. Mathewson III and I joined the 336th TFS in April 1947 @ Andrews Field. Col. Ernest H. Beverly was the CC and we flew the P-47N, until we transitioned into the F-80A in May 1947. Spent Korea at Kimpo and Suwan in 1951 with the 8th Wing/35th Sq flying F-80Cs. Spent Vietnam at Bien Hoa in 1967-68 with the 3rd Wing/531st Sq flying F-100Ds. Spent time in 10 fighter units in 30 years; and, all you JOCKS are absolutely the GREATEST, bar none!! Miss ya'll!!

Comments: Great site! I am a big fan of the PC game "Mig Aley". I know it is just a game and nothing compared to what the guys who actually flew the F-86, but I have gained a great respect for the airplane. Keep up the good work!

Comments: AWESOME website honoring not only classic fighter aircraft, but the men who flew them as well.....really worth unlimited return visits. I hope this site not only continues to fuel the memories of the brave fellows who flew these planes, but also may it kindle interest in the minds of young people, to show them the bravery, guts, iron-forged friendships, and classic aircraft that gave birth to an era that should never be allowed to die. Good Luck....God Bless America...may those men who perished to secure our freedom never be forgotten.

Comments: Joined the 336th @ Andrews Field, in April of 1947. Col. Beverly was the CO. Tracy B. Mathewson and I were considered surplus after WWII and we heard that the 4th had just returned from Europe and were decrating there in the toulies. We found Col. Beverly there in the thick of things and asked him if he could use a couple of eager fighter pilots. We had just been released from the Spy School at Holibird Signal Depot for lack of interest. Col. Beverly contacted the Personnel Orders Section in the Pendagon, to confirm our free status; and, we had orders to the 4th that day!!!
